Monday, August 12

i think my head is explodingyesterday morning at church to my pleasant surprise i was given brief notice that I would be the Relief Society teacher for the 1 hour long class.

awesome. Then arrived in sacrament. OOOHHHHHHH ooohhhh awesome.
I made it onto the Sacrament program as well!!

PROOF GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR
gave a nice 20 minute talk.

wiiiiiiiinnnngggeeeeddd it

the spirit was there though.. that's what matters

10 points for griffyndor

white washing is just a blast
(sarcasm). Haha no I love it. It's just a very different experience.
No smart phone.. No clue where we are... I love just WHIPPING out our huge 4ft. by 4ft. map in public.
Reading this thing is like hyroglyphics. 9/10 times I'm holding it upside down.

We have been stalking and tracking down people and NOONE answers. We just get completely white days :(

I feel like those people that come to our door at home in MERICA' selling food storage, or those rip off magazines that never end up being delivered..

And... I completely do not blame people for not answering their doors.
We used to HIT THE FLOOR when those salesman came to our door

-_-

karma.
Ugh. We know your home Frau Mäyer.... you just yelled "don't answer" to your kids.

Oohhhh Ohhhhp yep. Now ya turned off your light

clever.
ya fooled us
Germans take their summer vacation time VERY seriously.
I mean so serious some members wont even let us come over. Turn off their phones.

Come on people...The Jdubbs and devil don't take vacation and neither do we

Ok I'm done.
Annnd in doing so I've also created a NEW dooring strategy.
Noone ever lets you talk more than 4 seconds in the intercom....

" hallo... wir sprechen mit mensc.."

SLAM" Gutentag wir schenken ein Buch heiß das .."

swear word...

then SLAM

So when they DO answer instead of speaking. I just make a wind noise( which confuses the German thus stumping them enough to pressing the Buzzer to let whoever/whatever it is inside. )

relax and take notes.

Well I'm still nice and infected. BUT i am feeling a litttttle bit better! They figured out a way to get AntiBiotics in my body safely.... and yup that's all I'll say

I also have to drink this awful chalky foamy medicine paste

It tastes like Satans milkshake.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

It's made my huge bags under my eyes go away! I look semi-normal again!
I've had them my whole mission and thought I was just aging or losing it. But nope.
Just infection and swelling from built up crap from my allergies.

Peace and Blessings

Seeing as how I was sick and we were trapped inside a little..I decided to go to work and organize the area
-I bought a HUGE Kassel map and put pins where every contact/old investigator lives.

-Then marked where every member lived
-Then organized our area book into ZIP codes. (So we can target one Zip code a week and meet with every member/contact in that Zip a week. Should be finished with EVERY BLOCK of Kassel in 10 weeks :)
-Then made a HUGE birthday calander with every members birthday on it.
Thus giving us a special excuse to bring something by and shove our foot in the door.

Even Germans loves birthdaysIt shouldn't be too difficult here to get everyone visited.. Unfortunately, there are only 50 active members here in our Branch.
Majority are kids, less actives or so old they don't even know who we are

We visited a sweet senior citizen in our ward this week. She was a HOOT!!!
She would stand up to go get something and walk back in sooooo puzzled and ask
" now what was I going to get?".

Or come sit down and say " wait...who are you people again?"
This happened perhaps every 3 minutes. I was hoping of all things she would forget to feed us

But NOPE.Despite age. Alzheimers. Post traumatic war stress and whatever other disease old people get.
Germans do NOT forget to feed the missionaries. Before we left she told us to be sure to visit the big Herculues statue in the center of Kassel! That it's a must see!

In her very own words " he has the best tooshy of them all"

mmk.. yup your 104 years old

so as you can tell

Lots to do
Lots to see....Hercules
Milkshakes to be drunk
People to dunk

ok...bear with me. This email is long. I got time seein as how my inbox is weak..pshh just cuz I'm coming home people doesn't mean y'all don't have to email...thx to Baby J. You always pull through. Even if it is just telling me what you ate this week or saw on walking dead.
Guilt trip for the rest of the family. 10 points to Jens

Plus...emails are a easy out
be a champ buy a stamp- write sister d

This week in my personal study in Alma was where it speaks about Moroni allllll I could think about was
1. how AMAZING example of the believers this man was
2. I got to make sure I date myself a guy like that

What I loved especially was learning how Moroni was ALWAYS prepared.
In chapters or times when perhaps there was no tragedy, war or reason to worry.
He was ALWAYS prepared and seeking to better himself and those in his care.

I think of how often in life we wait till tragedy hits to get on our knees and to then ask for help and the means necessary to pull through.

The Book of Mormon has SO many examples of preparing for and conquering trials.
Doing so with a unwayfaring testimony that everything is possible through Christ who strengthens us

This week try to be like MORONI and ask the Lord to prepare you for what's to come.
To have him help guide you and become a better tool in his hands.

Or if perhaps it's too late to ask before hand and your in the midst of trial.

Look unto the example of NEPHI in 1 Nephi 18: 15-16
( this is my geek out cross reference action here).

Though these stories I found to be completely different. I love the comparison i found. We recently studied these few verses deeply when Nephi was tied bound up by his brothers while on the ship on their way to the promised land.

Can you imagine the pain!? How uncomfortable, sick, sore and sad you would be?
His brothers hearts were softened and they unbound him a few days later.

Though he had just been put through that awful torture and perhaps had not even fully recovered

Within minutes of being free he says
''Nevertheless, I did look unto my God, and I did apraise him all the day long; and I did not murmur against the Lord because of mine afflictions.''
NEVERTHELESS
Despite the pain, illness, weakness,
he did praise God

NEVERTHELESS
did he remember to THANK God for delivering him

NEVERTHELESS
did he forgive his brothers for mistreating him

NEVERTHELESS
Whether in the midst of  trial or awaiting the storm.
Your father in heaven will warn you, guide you and stand by you through it.

The least you could do is to thank him

NEVERTHELESSAfter a series of Job like maladies. A few bumps in the cobblestone and 16 months later
I thank my Lord for every single second.
For the times he carried me......or more like dragged me kicking and screaming in my life.

For the trials and hard times I have faced in my life...
Trials where at the time not knowing why and for what cause.
Only to be sent half way around the world to learn why.

every. single. one. of themhas prepared me for something I faced on my mission, gave me understanding and compassion for investigators and their trials,
given me a little backbone where needed, cleared my path of things that were not good for me,
helped me know where my future lies, gave me the knowledge and lessons needed to be able to stand and say..

That I know with all I am that the Church of Jesus Christ is once again on the earth

that I'm where I'm supposed to be
that I am nothing but can do all things through my savior, my brother and my friend Jesus Christ

Leise  Grüße

Technology is a really great help to be connected, That is why the only things that we are connected to God is our Prayer.

    God Bless everyone.
